Description:

NTI, in contracting with New York University’s Rudin Center for Transportation Policy and Management has developed a course in senior leadership for transit industry professionals.

The Senior Leadership program provides a unique training and educational opportunity for upper level transit managers. It provides participants with a comprehensive and integrated set of information necessary for successful executive careers. Further, this is presented from both an academic and empirical perspective. The course will be taught by active practitioners, academics, transit agency executives and government officials and will cover the following areas:

  • What makes a leader?
  • Building managerial and leadership skills
  • Working in a public environment
  • Succeeding in the Transit industry
  • Thinking strategically and conceptually
  • Mastering external dynamics
  • Implementing change successfully
  • Confronting evolving issues

Upon completing the course, participants will have broadened their professional capabilities as well as have a better understanding of the requirements and challenges of executive management positions.

Audience:

Future senior leaders in transit, who are currently in middle and upper middle management positions, who have recently advanced to a higher level position or will advance in the near future.
