Advancing U.S. Bus Safety and Modernization Training

Description:

This two-day course* provides participants with an overview and familiarization of bus safety and modernization basics; it is comprised of three modules titled:

1) Bus Safety and Modernization Overview: Fundamentals

2) Electrical Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

3) Charging Technologies

 This course offers participants an overview on: (1) what is Bus Safety and Modernization, (2) what features allow modern buses to function similarly and differently from standard internal combustion engines and other buses, (3) preventive maintenance practices (4) safety guidelines and protocols – particularly around HV, (5) personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment, and (6) a summary of bus safety and modernization technologies.

 The course will also include demonstrations of technicians performing de-energization of a vehicle and other hands-on exercises and video demonstrations to allow participants to, visually, note specific materials and procedures utilized during various maintenance tasks. Additionally, participants will discuss emerging maintenance technologies and trends and other related issues with industry experts and peers.
