NTI offers a variety of courses in five critical areas:
Advanced Technology and Innovative Practice courses facilitate the efficient introduction of advanced technologies and innovative practices into transit. These topics specifically focus on developing a variety of training and education projects to enhance the understanding, knowledge, and technical skill of transit professionals as they explore, procure, implement, and manage innovative techniques, systems, equipment, and ideas to improve service and operation.
Management and Professional Development provides management and supervisory training for new and experienced public transit supervisors, mid-level managers, and senior managers.
Multimodal Transportation Planning courses support the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century, the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991, the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990, SAFETEA-LU, and their implementing regulations as well as support of the good practice of multimodal transportation planning. NTI’s Multimodal Transportation Planning courses are intended for employees of metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs), state/county/local planning agencies, transit agencies, state and local departments of transportation (DOTs), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Army Corps of Engineers, Fish and Wildlife Service, Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and consultant firms.
Courses in Federal Compliance are designed to help grantees understand processes and learn tools to remain or become compliant with federal regulations. Target audiences include a broad range of titles and skill sets from paratransit operations managers, to trainers, construction managers, and project finance professionals.
Workplace Safety courses are designed to address worker safety and health in the transit workplace. Courses are designed for front-line and supervisory personnel.
