BUREAU OF TRANSPORTATION STATISTICS
An operating administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). BTS
is required by the intermodal surface transportation efficiency act (istea) of
1991 to improve the knowledge base for public decision making, and to improve
public awareness of the nation's transportation system and its consequences.
BTS compiles, analyzes, and makes accessible information on the nation's
transportation systems; collects information on intermodal transportation and
other areas as needed; and works to enhance the quality and effectiveness of
government statistics.

ITS AMERICA
The Mission of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America)
is to foster public/private partnerships to increase the safety and efficiency
of surface transportation through the application of advanced technologies. ITS
America was mandated by the u.s. congress in 1991 to coordinate the development
and deployment of intelligent transportation systems in the united states.

TRANSIT COMMUNICATIONS INTERFACE PROFILES (TCIP)
A suite of data interface standards for the transit industry. The TCIP project
is sponsored by the Institute of Transportation Engineers and funded by the
U.S. DOT's Joint Program Office for ITS.

THE TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH BOARD (TRB)
TRB's mission is to promote innovation & progress in transportation by
stimulating and conducting research, facilitating the dissemination of
information, and encouraging the implementation of research results.

U.S. DOT TECHNOLOGY SHARING PROGRAM (TSP)
One of the oldest and most successful intermodal & widely known program to
the transportation community. TSP disseminates reports, technical reports,
manuals, and summary documents on a variety of topics to its user community.

APTA's vision is to be the leading force in advancing public tranportation.
APTA serves and leads its diverse membership through advocacy, innovation, and

THE CANADIAN URBAN TRANSIT ASSOCIATION (CUTA)
The association of providers of urban transit services, suppliers, and related
organizations of Canada. Its mission is to promote the role of urban transit in
enhancing mobility, and to support its members in the fulfillment of their
mandate.

THE COMMUNITY TRANSPORTATION ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA
A national professional membership association of organizations and individuals
committed to removing barriers to isolation and to improving mobility for all
people. CTAA conducts research, provides technical assistance, offers
educational programs, and serves as an advocate in order to make coordinated
community transportation available, and accessible.

PROJECT ACTION
Project ACTION (Accessible Community Transportation In Our Nation) is a
congressionally created national technical assistance. The foundational work of
Project ACTION is in promoting cooperation between the disability community and
transportation industry. This work enables improved access to transportation
for people with disabilities and the provision of accurate and practical
information to help transportation operators implement the Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA).

THE PROJECT FOR PUBLIC SPACES, INC.
PPS provides technical assistance, research and educational efforts to improve
the comfort, attractiveness, social and economic use and vitality of their
public spaces.
