Considerations for Creating an Ethics Compliance Training Program

Length: 1.5 hours

Audience:

This course is for transit human resources professionals and others involved with ethics related issues.

Description:

Ethics is becoming an increasingly important issue for public transportation agencies. The focus of this T-Class is to discuss the components of an effective ethics compliance training program that gives all transit employees the skills necessary to maintain the integrity of the transportation system and uphold the public trust. Topics will include:

  • The importance of training all employees on ethics in the transit workplace
  • How to define ethics in your transit workplace
  • Integrating workplace policies into ethics training
  • The implication of an actual vs. perceived conflict of interest and how to train on these concepts
Relevant hypothetical scenarios and case studies will be discussed.

The T-Class will be presented by Tracey P. Partee, Esq. from HR Solutions & Services, LLC. Ms. Partee is a highly accomplished attorney with extensive legal, consulting and training experience in the fields of workplace violence prevention, employment and labor laws, compliance with Titles VI and VII and the ADA, human resources issues, employee and customer relations, and a variety of safety-related topics for both public and private organizations, agencies and companies. In the past she has also served in the capacity of a HR Generalist, a mediator, and has conducted workplace investigations regarding employee complaints and safety-related issues. She has worked with NTI since 2001 developing and facilitating courses in these areas.

The ninety-minute T-Class is delivered in a telephone conference format. Ms. Partee will review the listed topics during the first 45 minutes of the teleconference; the last 45 minutes are dedicated to open phones for questions from the audience.
