Audience:
The target audience for this course will include those individuals currently employed in the transit industry in the field of transit marketing, with the primary audience defined as mid-level marketing professionals (those who already have a basic knowledge of the fundamentals of marketing for the transit industry). The target audience does not include individuals without any transit marketing experience and individuals who are considered “senior” in the field of transit marketing.
Description:
The National Transit Institute has developed a curriculum for transit marketing professionals. This is the third of four modules, dealing with communications planning, media relations, crisis communications, and public communications.
Objectives:
- Communications Planning
The participants will be able to:
- Understand marketing‘s role in communications management
- Create a marketing plan
- Create a communications plan
- Media Relations
The participant will be able to:
- Build a strong media relationship
- Know how to target a message
- Manage coverage properly
- Crisis Communications
The participant will be able to:
- Describe the three phases of crisis communications
- Plan for crisis communication
- Recognize and articulate various transit crisis scenarios
- Public Communications
The participant will be able to:
- Create and maintain public trust
- Regain public trust
- Articulate public communications issues
